Prep Médico: Navigating Your Path Into Medicine
Each year, the UC Davis School of Medicine and The Permanente Medical Group offer the Prep Médico program. It’s a summer residential program for freshman and sophomore college students (including Community College students), and it seeks to build the next generation of physicians committed to serving and advancing the health underserved communities. And it’s not only free, and not only is housing and transportation provided, but you get hands-on experience that’s hard to get otherwise. You will be given the opportunity to interact with UCD Medical and Kaiser Permanente professionals. Program duration is from June 20th through July 21st, 2023.

Stanford Summer Community College Premedical Program
SSCCPP is a full-time six-week hybrid summer program created to provide exposure to students of health disparities, clinical experiences, leadership challenges in professional settings, and preparation for the medical school or graduate application process. Additionally, you'll be given the chance to medical student mentorship, peer networking, and clinical shadowing resources. This is a great experience for students interested in the medical field!

Do you love working with kids, both in and out of a classroom setting? Are you organized, energetic and get excited by the prospect of coaching your own group of students? Then working as a Coach/Teaching Assistant for K-8 classes will give you a great experience of assisting in physical education classes in addition to a social-emotional learning curriculum.

Our need for volunteers is constant and continues to evolve as we navigate this health crisis. Please rest assured that we are working with public health officials to help keep local communities and our volunteer safe. Volunteer at the UC Davis MIND Institute
Volunteers work with the MIND Institute's Child Life Specialists. Primary duties include providing play activities and supervising children who visit the research clinic and Massie Family evaluation clinic. Other volunteer duties may include maintaining the play and common areas; cleaning toys; preparing for and staffing special events; performing administrative tasks; and assisting other departments with special projects. Volunteers may also gain educational experience by observing children in research or evaluation settings.
