Samantha Sears
Executive President
Samantha was born in Sacramento and delivered by her grandfather, who was a well respected physician. Samantha took an interest in health and medicine as a very young child, she often called her grandfather for holistic medical advise when she or a family member became ill. She began pursuing a medical career at American River College, with the goal of transferring to UC Davis to study Microbiology in Fall 2017.
Between having a young child and studying for school, she enjoys the outdoors, obsessing over Dr. Oliver Sacks and any book related to holistic/herbal alternative medicines.
Kukuli Banda

Kukuli Banda has always been interested in the medical field. Kukuli grew up in Sacramento and graduated from Mira Loma High School International Baccalaureate Diploma Program where she spent much of high school organizing a Dance Marathon to raise proceeds for the UC Davis Children’s Hospital - Children’s Miracle Network.
She is currently working on transferring to a UC as a Biology major. Kukuli has worked as a lifeguard for over two years. She volunteers at the UC Davis Medical Center in the Pediatric ER and also volunteers at Opening Doors Sacramento with resettling refugees. She is currently an Intern Volunteer for the UC Davis Pre-Medical and Pre-Health Professions National Conference. In her free time Kukuli likes to spend time with friends and family from Peru, read, travel and play the violin.

Paul is interested in the medical field and wants to study optometry or ophthalmology in medical school. Paul is a full time student at American River College since Fall 2015 and he is currently working on transferring to UC Davis as a Biology major.
In Paul's free time, he loves to eat phò, nap, play the guitar, watch Netflix, basketball, sing, and hangout with friends and family. Paul is passionate about the things he does and he finds new inspirations everyday, that helps him strive for his goals.

Gamar is currently a sophomore completing prerequisites for her major of Biological Sciences where she plans on transferring and following her major at UC Davis. Dallas Vue

Dallas Vue was born and raised in Sacramento and he is the youngest of eight children. His Hmong refugee parents instilled in him the belief that hard work will be rewarded and that education is invaluable. Dallas graduated from Grant Union High School in Sacramento in the class of 2015 where he maintained above a 4.0 GPA while serving as president of the Interact Club, participating in the UC Early Academic Outreach Program, and UC Davis’ TRIO Upward Bound. Dallas was recognized as a National Quest Bridge Scholar in high school for his hard work in academics and services to his community.
Dallas attended UC Davis in the fall of 2015 with a major in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior (NPB), but rerouted his plans to go to American River College last summer to enhance his chances of being more well-rounded, so that he can get into a medical school in the near future. Dallas plans to transfer to Sacramento State majoring in Biomedical Sciences in the fall of 2019. Dallas aspires to become a medical doctor and a scientist to find a cure for cancer. She is majoring in Biochemistry and hopes to transfer to UC Davis after graduating with two associate degrees from American River college. Her ultimate goal is to expand her knowledge in medicine and build connections through AMSA. She plans to study medicine in the future.

After going to the Philippines at a young age and seeing her grandfather’s clinic, Andrea found that she loved the way her grandfather cared for people. Years later, Andrea’s grandfather died and the clinic was abandoned. From then on Andrea aspires to become a pediatrician in hopes of going back to the Philippines and reopening her grandfather’s clinic to provide free healthcare for families who cannot afford it. Aside from studying, Andrea likes to spend her time traveling, playing piano, dancing embarrassingly to music, studying cosmology, spending time with friends and family, and laughing.

While working on her medical school application, she is taking Anatomy and Physiology class here at ARC. With her busy schedule being a medical interpreter and a tutor, she cherishes every minute with her adorable 22-month-old daughter

He has plans to give up whatever amount of time required to achieve his life goal of becoming a doctor that can provide physical help and emotional compassion wherever he goes.

Because of this early exposure into the medical field, he’s had a constant passion for medicine and to continue his father’s legacy. Despite having a financially stable life in the Philippines, his family moved to the United States in 2011 to start a better social and economic life. Christian hopes to transfer to UC Santa Barbara in Fall 2019 with a major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He aspires to eventually become a successful cardiothoracic surgeon.
Christian enjoys photography and hiking during his free time, as well as spending time with friends and family. He loves the outdoors and frequents Yosemite, which is his favorite national park. He likes to cook and try out new recipes as well. He also likes to go kayaking and fishing during the warmer seasons.
