AMSA ARC is fortunate to have a robust mentorship program with UC Davis School of Medicine students that involves two types of events:
Each pre-med student is paired with a medical student for an informal talk about medical school admissions and life in medical school over dinner. This is a great way to interact with current UC Davis Medical School students who are former community college, CSU, and UC graduates and learn from their experience.
This all-day field trip is much more than just a tour of a medical school. You will experience what it means to be a medical student and will get a picture of what medical school is like. Our day at the UC Davis School of Medicine includes sitting in on classes with medical students, attending their small group discussions, touring the school, talking to faculty, and meeting with the Dean of Admission. Upon our arrival to the medical school you will be paired with a medical student who will guide you through the day and answer any questions you may have about medical school admissions and what it’s like to be attending med school.
