At three distinct stages in the development of modern society, mathematical developments fundamentally and dramatically changed how people understand the world and how they live their lives. Join Dr. Keith Devlin, author of "The Unfinished Game: Pascal, Fermat and the Seventeenth Century Letter that Made the World Modern", as he explores these historical developments and their impact on human life and cognition.

Dr. Devlin is a Consulting Professor of Mathematics and Executive Director of the Center for the Study of Language and Information at Stanford University. He is also a regular commentator on National Public Radio's Weekend Edition Saturday, where he is known as "The Math Guy." His previous books include "The Language of Mathematics", "The Numbers Behind Numb3rs: Solving Crime With Mathematics", and "The Math Gene".
