| Other Info | Candace Lawson, M.D., ACFP President, California Academy of Family Medicine Assistant Professor of Family Practice, Keck School of Medicine at University of Southern California Dr. Lawson hails from Talladega, Alabama, home of the Winston 500 and historic Talladega College. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of California Berkeley with a major in Conservation and Resource Studies. She then did a year and a half of epidemiological research in San Francisco studying the AIDS epidemic. She did her medical school training and residency at the University of California, Davis and followed this with a one-year academic medicine/adult medicine fellowship. She has worked in a variety of settings including community clinics, academic centers and corporate health care environments. Her professional interests include women’s health, medical education, continuous quality improvement, and general family practice. She enjoys playing piano, reading and spending time with her family. Dr. Lawson is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Family Practice at the University of Southern California and the director of the Methodist Family Medicine Residency Program, in Sacramento, CA. |
